I do not like Great Wolf Lodge. Those words will likely make it into my eulogy. But of all them my kids have begged to stay at over the years, this one outside of Dallas Texas in Grapevine is the best indoor waterpark we’ve been to. It’s also the most affordable I’ve found. We booked through TikTok Go & were able to get 50% cash back keeping our room rate under $200 a night for the two queen family suite. With the amount of included on-site entertainment, and food options, this is a great deal for the family. I'm gonna show you the one I hate the least. This one is just outside of Dallas in Grapevine, Texas. There's complimentary fruit infused ice cold water when you check in. They're adequately staffed and use mobile waiting in lines. The bathroom is tragically basic, but it was very clean. We stayed in the two queen family suite, it's not a suite, it's just a room with a couch. It's weird that the sink is outside of the bathroom, but the beds were plush and comfortable. It's also weird that they put the TV in a place that's not convenient to watch it. There's a microwave, mini fridge, which is more than you're gonna get in a Vegas hotel room for free. And a small sitting area where the couch pulls into a third need it, which is convenient. The room included extra linens and blankets, which is great with kids. Great Wolf Lodge is always Disneyland level busy. This lobby is high ceilings make it feel less claustrophobic, but you're still stepping over people to get everywhere. The water park does not have an overwhelming smell of chlorine, which makes me think they've got the chemical balance right at this one. There's a huge outdoor ropes course, but not for us in the Texas sun. There's an area for smaller kids. This is the largest one I've seen at any Wolf Lodges. There's a couple places for food and a gift shop inside the water park. They have a lot of large water slides for thrill seekers and shallow areas for people who just wanna chill. And I love that this location has a lot to do outside. Fresh air and sunshine, a nice outdoor bar. It goes a long way for just improving the vibe at the resort. Texas is pretty warm most of the year so this area probably gets a lot of use. There's different entertainment amenities at each Great Wolf Lodge. This one has a large arcade. It's expensive, but there is a good game selection. They also have one of the Oliver mining companies where you can buy an overpriced bag of dirt and sift out some shiny rocks that your kids will throw away when they get home. No one wants to eat at Great Wolf Lodge. But if I had to pick a "best", I'll put more details in the comments. Be sure to follow me for all the Vegas and beyond.
