Day 16. Do you actually trust God, or do you just trust him when you already know how it's gonna end? Because for me ✋🏼😭 guilty.. Because there's a version of faith that looks like faith but it's really just control with a prayer attached to it. Proverbs 3:5 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Not most of your heart. Not the parts you're okay with releasing. All of it. And I think we avoid that verse for a reason. Because leaning on your own understanding at least feels safe. You can see the steps. You can manage the outcome. You know what's coming. But faith doesn't work like that. The moment you lock down every detail, you've already told God you don't need him. You just need him to co-sign what you already planned. That's not trust. That's a backup plan with God's name on it and just hoping He co-signs it. Isaiah 55:8 says his thoughts aren't our thoughts and his ways aren't our ways. Which means the outcome you're so afraid to let go of might not even be the one worth holding onto. Let it go. Not because it's easy. Because He's actually who He says He is.
