This is what it's like being gay in Corporate America. You have to sit through a bunch of small talk about people's spouses and their kids and the whole time you cannot relate. Everyone thinks you're the best dressed, but really you wear basic clothes that fit you properly. A lot of times your female co-workers see you as a safe space, so they'll ask you about their makeup, they'll ask you about like their boyfriend problems. Allies will make it clear that they're allies, they'll find subtle ways to let you know. HR loves you. You get asked to be in charge of a lot of the team building events and you're expected to join all of the social clubs.
