I felt to breeze this morning. A new fantasy fall is on its way to me. So here are some of my favorite fall reads. First and foremost, we have the entire Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. If you are new to the Mortal Instruments series in general, you're going to start off with City of Bones. You're going to be introduced to our female main character Clary Fray, who is partying in a club. It's her 15th birthday. She's having the time of her life. Boom, she witnesses a murder. Nobody else sees it, and that is what gets us there. Nobody else sees this murder and she is thrown into the world of the Shadowhunters. And she realizes she is a Shadowhunter. She can see monsters and she can see demons. If you want a bit more of an introspective fantasy book, then I would recommend Masters of Death by Olivie Blake. We literally follow death and we get to see his inner monologue. We get to see the way that death works and it is so fascinating to just read about and to read about the way that death still loves. And then our other characters are so, so interesting. We have a real estate agent who is also a vampire who's trying to sell a house that is haunted and she needs a medium who is also death's godson to come in and make sure that the house has no bad juju. What was that? Speaking of death? Yeah. Belladonna by Adalyn Grace. This book, our main character, is Sigrid. She has been raised by a string of different guardians who all die. So when she figures out that she's related to the elusive Hawthorne family, these rich people, she obviously goes and lives with them. But the Hawthornes don't know is that Sigrid has a direct connection to death himself. Now, the Hawthornes' mother has just passed away and Sigrid and death investigate. Now, if this fantasy fall your vibe is going to be more gods and monsters, I would recommend Shield of Sparrows by Devaney Perry. Five kingdoms here. They're each plagued by monsters. And our main character is a princess who's been betrothed to the prince of an enemy land so that her father can kind of sneak into that land. So she's working as a spy. Except the princess's main ally is someone known as the Guardian. And he's the most feared monster hunter in this world. Now, complete opposite vibes from the first large series I recommended. This one is very small. It has three books. I've only read the first two. But I thought they were great. They are very, very quick and easy, just short reads. They keep your attention and each of them. So you do not get lost or bored. And this is by Alex Aster. So it's Lightlark and then Nightbane is the second book. And I believe the third one is called Starside. This entire stack are some of my most highly recommended books. And I hope that you enjoy them if you decide to pick them up, especially this fall.
