In two years, I went from watching my entire family leave Jamaica one by one to building a company that gives our people in the diaspora a reason to come back home. My father left Jamaica for work when I was in grade four. A few years later, my mother left, and one by one she took both of my younger brothers with her. Right now every member of my immediate family lives abroad, and I am the only one still here. For a long time I believed that leaving was the only way to earn a living that made sense. But I watched COVID & the remote job market change that. I started helping Caribbean professionals get hired by companies abroad without having to migrate. I hosted the very first Caribbean Remote Work Conference earlier this year, where over 7000 people showed up, and I built a remote job board to connect people living in the Caribbean with international companies looking for remote workers. These remote jobs pay anywhere from 1,500 to 5,000 USD per month. Which is roughly 240,000 to 800,000 JMD per month. So many people in the diaspora said to me. "If you can help me get a salary like that back home, I will move back to Jamaica." That is the whole reason I built what I built. I could not keep my own family here, but I can help the next family to not get separated chasing opportunities. I am on a mission to help people living in the Caribbean and the diaspora land remote jobs by building the infrastructure we need. If you want to be a part of my journey, then hit follow because there is a chance you won’t see me again. Love Ya'll. #remotework #workfromhome #wfh #remotejobsjamaica
