How to be sub-60 on the Rubik's Cube. And no, you don't need to learn F2L. A lot of videos teaching you to be sub-minute will say "just learn F2L". I disagree completely. The advice isn't wrong, just early. It's aimed at people who are like sub-45 and like sub-45 equals cross over 1:00. Not for people who are like over a minute. What actually works? Two things. That's it. Improving your last layer, your cross. So, a lot of people spend tons of time on this cross. This is the number one beginner mistake. Beginners. So a lot of times let's say your solve is about a minute and 10 seconds. Where it goes can be anywhere from like 15 to 25 seconds. So by just putting your time on that easiest step, you're going to get way faster, quicker, because that's such a simple step. You're recently starting the whole solve wrong. Starting wrong. And then once you've got your cross down, if you learn 2-Look OLL, which is 7 algorithms, and they're all pretty easy. And then just 2 PLL algorithms. They basically kill the luck and increase your consistency. So those are my recommendations for getting sub-minute. Other than just practicing. Also, if you're trying to get faster, surrounding yourself with other people trying to get faster as well is also a really good way to do that. So you can join Speedcubing Academy. We have 2000 cubers inside who are all trying to get faster. Every week. Also competitions. So you can actually train and see yourself getting better, track your progress single week. Anyways, I'll see you in there. Thanks for watching.
