One of the coldest truths I've learnt about performative people

One of the coldest truths I've learnt about performative people is they don't have their own identity. They literally will adapt their identity to other people as long as they feel like those people are higher than them on the social hierarchy. They'll adapt to those people's hobbies, they'll adapt to those people's way of thinking just to be around them so they can be part of the hierarchy. And they constantly gonna be testing you to see where you fit in that social hierarchy. Right? And if you don't fit that image that they have of you in their head, they'll literally just discard you and they'll move on to other people that they think are higher in the social hierarchy. Really Learned this about a bunch of different content creators I've talked to, people in real life I've talked to. I've Learned this about a lot of different people. A lot of these people, they pretend like they trying to find deep connection. They pretend like they trying to find they grouping of people, when in all actuality they really just a chameleon. They just chameleon to the group that's highest in the social hierarchy and those are the people they decide to be with. Even if these people really don't resonate with them, they will chameleon themselves to these people in their way of life because they wanna be higher in the hierarchy. This is where the whole terminology of a snake in the grass comes from. These people be pretending like they seeking deep connection, when really they just seeking a higher position in the social hierarchy. These are people that usually display narcissistic, sociopathic, or psychopathic traits. And I really did learn that. I've Learned the hard way a couple of times. But, you know, it is what it is.
