YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO WATCG THIS! ❤️🔥 How I Moved 10 Hours Away & Rebuilt My Clientele in 5 Months I get asked all the time how I rebuilt my clientele so quickly after moving 10 hours away. Here’s exactly what I did, and what I’d do again if I had to start over tomorrow. 1. Decide when you’re moving ASAP. The second you know you’re moving, the clock starts. The more time you have before the move, the more time you have to fill your books. Even if you don’t know exactly where you’ll be working yet, you can still start pre-booking clients. I started marketing BEFORE I even lived here. Join every local Facebook group you can find and start posting. Example: “I’m moving to the area in January! To celebrate my move, I’m offering 20% off all January appointments!” This reels people in, grabs attention, and starts conversations before you even unpack. ⸻ 2. Have your job lined up before you move. Reach out to salons and suites early. Once you find the right fit: • Announce your new location immediately. • Message every pre-booked client with the address. • Start collaborating posts with the salon or suite page. This gets your work in front of local people that are already following that business. Seriously… DO THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. ⸻ 3. “But how do you afford rent when you’re starting over?” This is probably the question I get asked the most. Here’s the answer… You pre-book clients. You market yourself. You blow up those local Facebook groups. You collaborate on posts. You hashtag the area you’re moving to. Go look at stylists in that city. See what hashtags they’re using and use those same location hashtags. And above everything else… Don’t let the negativity win. Believe in yourself. Confidence goes a LONG way. ⸻ 4. Research the area BEFORE you get there. Know what rent costs. (For me, Missouri rent was much higher than Texas.) Know what other stylists are charging. Then pivot. Adjust your pricing if needed. Honestly… Moving is the PERFECT opportunity to rebrand yourself. Raise your prices. Set your boundaries. Build the business you’ve always wanted from Day 1. Remember… It’s YOUR business. You run it. It doesn’t run you. This is also your chance to stop accepting clients that drain your energy. You literally don’t have to anymore. Start fresh. Be YOU. ⸻ 5. Respect yourself first. This one changed everything for me. No more coming in on your day off because one client “can’t make any of your available days.” If clients truly value you… They’ll make it work. The exact same goes for pricing. If they value what you do, they’ll pay for it. ⸻ 6. Bring VALUE to the area. You’re not just another stylist moving there. You’re bringing something NEW. Maybe you specialize in services that aren’t common there yet. That’s HUGE. That’s value. Go into the move respecting yourself and the experience you bring. ⸻ 7. So… how have my books looked these last 5 months? Simple. Booked. Confident. Refreshing. I’ve made more money than I’ve ever made—even with higher rent. I have wonderful clients who trust and respect me. I don’t take clients that don’t respect my time, my prices, or my professional advice. Of course I still have slower weeks. I’m rebuilding. But overall, I’ve been incredibly blessed with my books. ⸻ My biggest piece of advice… Respect yourself first. The clients you want will respect you too. Build the business around the life YOU want—not the other way around. Try these tips and let me know how they work for you! I seriously can’t wait to watch y’all grow. 🤍 #stylistsoftiktok
