Okay, so think about it this way. My childhood best friend of 17 years is a blonde white woman. Whenever, after all these years, when she asks me if her hair is greasy or her hair looks good, she's like, no, like my roots are growing out of my blonde. Or like, no, I have to wash my hair. After 17 years of knowing her, I still don't know how her hair is supposed to look like. Basically, when our braids usually get compliments by other people. It's usually when our braids need to be taken down because of our roots. That is basically the same exact comparison and hopefully that's easier to understand.
