Homemade chocolate pudding - creamy, rich, and made with real ingredients instead of artificial flavors and colors. This tastes so much better than anything from a plastic cup at the store, and my kids request it constantly. Store-bought pudding cups are convenient, sure, but they're also full of things I'd rather not feed my family. Homemade pudding uses whole milk, real cocoa powder, and simple ingredients you already have at home. No artificial flavors. No weird preservatives. Just pure, creamy chocolate pudding that tastes like an actual treat. The best part? It's ridiculously easy to make. One pot, a little whisking, and you've got smooth, silky pudding that sets up beautifully in the fridge. My kids love it even more than the packaged version, and I love knowing exactly what went into every single bite. Simple ingredients. Easy to make. And you know exactly what your family is eating. Homemade Chocolate Pudding Makes: 9 - 6oz jars Time: 2 ½ hours Ingredients: * 7 cups whole milk * 1⅓ cups cane sugar * 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder * ½ cup + 1 Tbsp cornstarch * ¾ tsp salt * ½ cup unsalted butter * 1 Tbsp vanilla extract Directions: 1. In a large saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt until well combined. 2. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth and no lumps remain. 3. Place over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil and thickens (about 8-10 minutes). It should coat the back of a spoon. 4. Once thickened, boil for 1 additional minute while stirring constantly. 5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla until butter is fully melted and incorporated. 6. Pour pudding through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl for the smoothest texture. 7. Divide into 9 six-ounce jars. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of each pudding to prevent a skin from forming. 8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set and chilled. #kidsnacks #homemaderecipe #mindfulmothering #lifeofahomemaker #madefromscratch
