Why it worked

The video uses a relatable 'life hack' format that solves a common problem (portability of petroleum jelly) using everyday household items, which encourages high engagement and saves.

Summary

The creator demonstrates a life hack by repurposing an empty Suave deodorant container to hold Vaseline. She cleans the container and refills it to create a portable balm applicator.

Structure

1Creator selects a Suave deodorant stick at a store
2Creator removes the label and empties the deodorant stick
3Creator cleans and boils the empty container
4Creator refills the container with Vaseline

Product placement

(a) Suave (deodorant) ACTS: the creator removes the label, opens the container, removes the deodorant stick, washes the empty container in the sink, boils it in a pot, cleans it, and refills it with Vaseline. (b) Vaseline (petroleum jelly) ACTS: the creator pours it into the empty Suave container to create a DIY product. Removing either would change the video as they are the core components of the hack.
