🏃♂️ Walking 20,000 steps a day. 🥤 Drinking caffeine to ignore my hunger. 🍗 Choosing the lowest-calorie option every time. 🏋️ Never missing a workout. 📉 Feeling guilty every time I rested. 📱 Letting MyFitnessPal decide if I’d had “enough.” 💔 I thought I was doing everything right because social media called it discipline. Nobody told me that looking healthy and being healthy aren’t always the same thing. It took ending up in hospital for me to realise that my body wasn’t failing me… I was failing it. When your body doesn’t have enough energy, it doesn’t know you’re trying to get lean for summer. It doesn’t know you’re trying to get abs. It doesn’t know you’re chasing the “perfect” physique. It just knows one thing: It needs to keep you alive. So it starts making trade-offs. • Your energy disappears. • Your anxiety gets louder. • Your body stops recovering. • Food occupies your thoughts. • Your world slowly becomes smaller. I wish someone had told me this sooner: ✨ You don’t need to earn your food. ✨ Rest isn’t laziness. ✨ Your body isn’t asking for more discipline. ✨ It’s asking for enough. The biggest lie I believed was that the healthiest version of me would also be the leanest. It wasn’t. The healthiest version of me is the one who can go on holiday without guilt, enjoy dinner with friends, train because I love it not because I have to and actually be present for my own life. If you’re in the season I was once in, I hope this finds you. Your body might not need another diet. It might just need you to stop fighting it. ❤️ Follow if you’re trying to build a life that’s bigger than your physique and want help with eating intuitively and not letting food control your every moment #foodfreedom #fuelyourbody #intuitiveeating #edrecovery #hormonehealth
