Nearly half a million people lost their mind listening to our mortgage earlier this year. It even made news outlets across the country. But we stuck to our original plan. And now I've got an update for you. So for context, we borrowed £222,750 over 40 years at 4.6% fixed for five years in February 2023. In the first two years, despite making £20,000 in payments, we only actually paid £3,800 off of the actual amount we borrowed went to interest. So in April this year, we £100 to our direct debit and start overpaying directly through our mortgage provider. Which means we've now overpaid by £500. If we don't pay a single penny more in overpayments, we've already saved ourselves £2,277 in interest months off of continue to overpay £100 a month indefinitely, we'd save a whopping £50,000 in and have our mortgage paid off over seven years. Now life happens and we'll renew it. Even borrow more bigger house. So we'll always stay flexible and assess our situation. But I'm so happy to do our overpay if we did, overpay if we where we need that £100 that month. Getting a mortgage is an important decision. It's so key what keyboard warriors are telling you in your comments.
