FUN FACT: Sammy Sosa is the ONLY player in MLB history to hit 60+ home runs in THREE different seasons. ⚾️🔥 Man, it was nice running into Sammy Sosa. Growing up, Sammy was the BIG CHEESE. When I was young, I used to read so many sports books, biographies, and stories about the biggest moments in sports history. And that era with Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire — especially that legendary 1998 home run chase — was the epitome of the type of sports stories I loved reading about. I read about it so much that I almost feel like I was there when it happened. 😂 So actually meeting Sammy brought me right back to being that kid who couldn’t get enough of sports history. Unfortunately, my glasses died right in the middle of the interaction 🤦🏾‍♂️, but I made sure we got the important part done: “ONLY MLB PLAYER 3× 60+ HR” on the Cubs jacket. He had a hard time wearing the jacket at first 😂, but we pulled it off! Man, salute to Sammy Sosa.
