haircut in TOKYO

I usually don't speak up when I don't like a haircut but I'm so glad I did this time. I'm in Tokyo right now and I wanted to go to the closest salon near my Airbnb. They had a sign at this location saying they don't speak English but they will communicate through translation app. I specifically wanted layers to show at the BACK of my head. I was looking for defined layers for my hair to give it more volume and dimension. These were the photos I showed her. But as you can see, I was not very satisfied because she was basically just cutting face framing pieces and defining my last layers that were grown out a bit. But I wanted a dramatic change. I whipped out Google Translate and tried to communicate with her. She was basically telling me because my hair texture is really soft the layers aren't going to show. Debating if I should speak up. I'm trying to tell her no, you can make it more dramatic. Anyways, after going back and forth another stylist came. Stylist #2 (Who came after my back and forth with the first stylist). This man went to work chopping off my hair. Honestly, I was more excited than scared because I was ready for a big change. There was so much he cut off. This man paid so much attention to detail and it ended up being exactly what I asked for. I just really wanted short defined layers and every time I thought he was done, he would go back and snip and trim. Then I shampooed my hair. The whole process restarted. Overall, I'm so happy with my hair. I just really wanted more texture and shape and that's exactly what I got. Here is the end result. I love how even though they were really defined layers, it still blended so nicely together. I love how even straight I love the dimension this cut gives me.
