Myth: the best way to train for hiking is just to… hike 🤯 Strength, balance, mobility, and endurance are all important to train for hiking in order to not only be capable, but also thrive and avoid overuse injuries. In this Reel, my pack weighs 20lb and am using 15lb dumbbells, but I recommend you start with only your bodyweight, then work your way up a few pounds at a time. This is just one snippet of one workout. I also do a weighted pack on a stairmaster and incline treadmill, additional strength and core work, mobility, stretching, and recovery. I’m not a fitness trainer or expert, but this is what has worked for me! Do you have any favorite exercises to prep for big hikes? 🥾👇🏼
