We continued where we left off, carefully removing the rest of his severely matted coat. The more fur came off, the more we could finally see the dog underneath it all. His paws, ears, face and nails were carefully cleaned and trimmed while the veterinarian monitored him. He wasn’t a “bad” or “aggressive” dog he had simply become scared of being handled after living with so much discomfort. We didn’t care about making the haircut perfect. We just wanted him to be free from those painful mats. When the final pieces came off, he looked like a completely different dog. Then the veterinarian woke him up, and thankfully, everything went well.
