I didn’t plan on turning my German husband into an Ukay Ukay guy, but here we are. 😅 Last weekend, Oli and I went hunting for treasures and scored these Hawaiian shirts for only around 150-200 ( $3 to $4) each. And honestly, we had SO much fun looking through the racks together. If you’re Filipino, you already know the Ukay Ukay life. 😂 For anyone who doesn’t, Ukay Ukay is basically thrift shopping in the Philippines, where you dig through racks of pre-loved clothes, shoes, bags and other finds looking for those hidden gems. You might walk in thinking you’ll just have a quick look and suddenly you’re there an hour later with five shirts you didn’t know you needed. 😂 And I love that Ukay Ukay makes reusing and recycling feel so normal. ♻️ Buying pre-loved means giving clothes another life instead of always buying something brand new, and you can genuinely find some amazing pieces in there if you’re willing to dig. For us, this has just become part of our everyday Siargao life. We’re a Filipina and German family living on an island in the Philippines 🇵🇭, running our surf business, raising our daughter, spending most of our days around the ocean… and apparently hunting for $3 Hawaiian shirts together. 😂🌴 Not everything we love has to be brand new.
