3 years ago I was 23 years old living at my parents house in a bad relationship. Actually just about to break up with my boyfriend this week. 3 years ago I had the crappiest job known to man. I was making less than 40,000 a year. I was 40 more pounds than I am now. I had no friends. No friends. And I was miserable. That was 3 years ago. Flash forward to now, I'm living in Tampa. I just got approved for my brand new apartment. I'm going to a wedding in Italy on Friday. I'm going to be a bridesmaid in that friend's wedding that I met almost two years ago. I have the best job ever. I'm doing content creation almost full-time. Life is only what you make it. If you feel like you are missing out, then you're missing out. If you feel like life is just now beginning, then it's just now beginning. I recently came across a study that said if you have positive self-talk, you are literally rewiring your brain to make your brain think better thoughts. 3 years ago I was crying almost every single night thinking my life was ruined, thinking that I could never get anything better than this. That was 3 years ago. That was literally 3 years ago. Time can change so fast. And time does change so fast. Even now at 26 years old, I think about how different my life is going to be in three years from now when I'm 29. 23 is so young to already be feeling like you're missing out. Missing out on what? Drinking? Out of fraud? Like no. We cannot be thinking that that's the peak. I mentioned this in my last video, but I'm traveling a lot. I'm investing in myself. I have amazing friends. When you are putting yourself out there, you will get it in return. Whether that means you do have to move to a new city, a new state. Whether that means you need to bite the bullet and quit your job and find a new one. And whether that means you need to break up with your shitty boyfriend. Whatever the case is, you are only missing out if you are not making yourself miss out. If you are taking the steps to give yourself a better life, you will quite literally give yourself a better life. The only people that are missing out are the people that are not trying. If you are trying, you're already halfway there. I left college thinking this is about to be the best rest of my life ever. If you're leaving college thinking that your life is over, then your life is over. Start going forward with a better mindset and rewiring your brain to think better thoughts because you are your own self-advocate. That is one of my biggest pieces of advice. You are the one that's sticking up for yourself. You're the one making yourself have a better life. No one came in to my life and gave me a better life. I did it for myself and you should too. When you graduate college, you need to do so too. I'm 23 and feel like I gotta get ahead or I'm gonna miss out so this is comforting
