In fact, a black person saying I hate white people is not the same as a white person saying the same thing. One is racist, one is not because black people cannot be racist. I'm going to try to explain this as simply as possible. A big, big part of racism is power. If I were to set up here and say a couple mean things about white people, yeah, it might hurt their feelings. It might not be nice. That doesn't make it racist. What would be racist is if it were backed by centuries of slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, mass incarceration, police brutality, lynching. And then you can go on and on and on. So I'm going to stop my feet from sun up to sundown screaming, I hate white people. White people are the worst, they're ugly, they suck. And it wouldn't change a thing. White people would still have the power, they'd still have the money, they'd still have the resources. Now, flip the script. What if a white person says, I hate black people? And then another of his buddies starts saying it. Now you know what happens. This is not a hypothetical anymore. This is history. Like a toddler trying to punch an adult. So cute. The second adult turns around and punches back. That's abuse.
