This is the problem with people knowing you make a little bit of money. I don't know what's worse between a man kind you being big money or you being perceived as big money by your community. My, this African aunty, we're not even blood related. She is a doctor. At least 20 years my senior. Our relationship has always been like, she's the adult with the established career, home, family. I was always a student. They would check up on me. Somebody spreading it through the grapevine that the Victoria's big. She asked me for money before, but it was a real emergency and she paid me back in a week. Even then, I was like, oh, she must really need this money to have to ask me. It must be really hard for her to ask me. Let me not make her feel bad. It hasnt even been two months. It's not tens, not hundreds, thousands. No contact. I politely declined. I'll face the music, I guess, when I face the music.
