We’re winning the fight against AI Music. With GEMA winning their case against Suno and Spotify now labelling AI on its platform, it feels like a shift is finally happening! There’s still plenty of work to do though. More musicians unions globally need to fight against AI platforms training illegally from our music. Plus the space we share with AI music is still very much a competition. AI music unfortunately isn’t banned from platforms like Spotify, so is still very much being monetised. Our next fight will no doubt be with Meta and Google over their promoting of AI music. I don’t believe we can put the genie back in the bottle but we can continue to make it harder for those trying to exploit real human artists and make sure casual listeners aren’t fooled by these AI scam artists.
