My steamed videos have been such a hit, I thought I'd share one of my favorites with you. Chicken thighs, Chinese sausage, and two different types of mushroom: beach and woodier. But the best part of this dish is its self-made broth that's only made possible by steaming. Growing up, I had always wished that my parents had made more flashy food, foods that were grilled, baked, or fried. But now that I'm older, I realized I love steamed food. It's a totally unsexy way of cooking because there's no big flame, no big show, no large anticipation. But it's quite literally, it's quick, it's fast, and most importantly, it's the cooking method that retains the most nutrients. It's a very gentle way of cooking that uses the least amount of oil, but gives you one of the quickest and most nutrient-dense broths you'll ever have. When you're cooking, the ingredients will start to seize up and release liquid, and that liquid is filled with vitamins like vitamin C, B, and nutrients like potassium and magnesium. Without steaming your food, you're missing out on one of the best things that your ingredients can give you. A self-made broth.
