Heat the olive oil in a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. 2. Add the Italian sausage and diced onion. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking up the sausage as it cooks, until the sausage is browned and the onion is softened. Drain excess grease if needed. 3. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant. 4. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and uncooked penne. Stir well to combine. 5. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until the pasta is tender. 6. Stir in the spinach and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, just until wilted. 7. Remove from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. 8. Let the pasta rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving. The sauce will continue to thicken as it sits. 9. Serve with extra Parmesan, fresh parsley or basil if desired, and garlic bread. @Rao’s Homemade @getgraza #onepanmeal #easydinnerideas #weeknightdinner #EasyRecipe #familydinnerideas
