Avoidant attachment or narcissistic abuse? 6 signs it was never avoidance. You call them avoidant because it’s easier to love someone who’s wounded than someone who’s choosing. Here’s how you know which one you had. 1️⃣ An avoidant pulls away from everyone. They only pulled away from YOU. Warm and funny with everybody at the party, cold the second the door shut. Avoidance isn’t selective. What you got was aimed. 2️⃣ An avoidant shuts down when they’re overwhelmed. They shut down when the attention was on YOU. Your birthday. Your promotion. That’s not overwhelm. That’s timing. 3️⃣ When you finally stopped chasing, they panicked. A real avoidant would’ve been RELIEVED. They never wanted distance. They wanted to be the one who decides how much there is. 4️⃣ They COULD give you closeness. Just never when you asked. Avoidants struggle to give intimacy at all. They gave it beautifully, right after a fight or right when you were done. That’s not a wound. That’s a dial, and they were holding it. 5️⃣ Every conversation about their distance ended with YOU apologizing. That’s not an attachment style. That’s a tactic. 6️⃣ The next person got the version you were told didn’t exist. Attachment wounds follow a person into every relationship. Theirs ended when you did. One line says it all: an avoidant pulls away to protect themselves. A narcissist pulls away to MOVE you. Same behavior. Opposite target. You didn’t fail to love a hurt person out of their fear. You were managed by someone who knew exactly what they were doing. There is nothing wrong with you. There never was. If three or more of those just hit, stop calling it avoidance. Message me HEAL and I’ll send you the way out. Quietly. Nobody has to know but us. #viral #avoidant #narcissist #Love #relationships
