I’m officially able to stop investing today and retire at 52—on a die with zero trajectory. Traditional retirement moves my retirement age up to 58. I started with $10,000 of savings in 2014 straight into my TFSA and recurring monthly investment contributions of just $200/month. I lived with roommates, below my means, yet travelled every. single. year. I took money out of my investments and bought a $16k car in cash. Saving and investing doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Start low and slow and build from there. Not sure where to invest? My favourite and recommended investing platforms are linked in my bio (american and canadian!) Starting is often the hardest part but I promise you don’t need to know everything to do it—you got this 📈 — Keywords: Coast FI, Coast FIRE, Financial Independence, Retirement Planning, Compound Interest, Self-Directed Investing, Low-Fee ETFs, TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, Personal Finance Canada, Long-Term Investing, Financial Freedom, Retire Early, Coast to Retirement, How Much Do I Need to Retire, Financial Independence Calculator, Investing for Beginners, 401k, Roth IRA For educational purposes.
