Overview
As a Quantitative Trading Intern at Susquehanna, you will work on projects that model the work of our full-time employees. You will also go through a comprehensive education program and interact with mentors who are at the top of their field, allowing you to build foundational knowledge in quantitative finance. You will have the opportunity to build alphas on an actual trading strategy.

Quantitative Research Engineer – PhD Intern (US)

Job Description
At Citadel, Quantitative Research Engineers work closely with Quantitative Researchers to develop and implement automated trading system software solutions. These systems utilize advanced statistical and quantitative techniques to tackle complex financial challenges. We seek candidates with a proven track record of excellence in their field and a strong desire for advanced software engineering skills to solve complex investing problems.
As an Intern, you'll get the chance to research and develop in primary areas of Citadel's business. You will be able to challenge the impossible in research through an 11-week program that will allow you to collaborate and connect with senior team members. In addition, you'll get the opportunity to research and develop in primary areas of Citadel's business. You will be able to indicate your timing preference in the application.
Our signature internship program takes place June through August. Conversely, we can be flexible to other times of the year. You will be able to indicate your timing preference in the application.
Your Objectives
• Design, develop, test and deploy elegant software solutions for automated trading systems
• Conduct interdisciplinary research lead to define, develop, and deploy senior custom software solutions
Your Skills & Talents
• PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or another highly quantitative field
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in one or more programming languages, including C++, Python, and R
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
• Strong computer science fundamentals and software development experience
• Experience with quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Platform Development, Networking, System Design, and/or Web Development
• Ability to identify and solve challenging problems by understanding and prioritizing business value and applying technology solutions
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

As a Summer Associate in the Quantitative Trading team at JPMorgan Chase, you will join a leading quantitative modeling group focused on systematic trading, financial engineering, data analysis, statistical modeling, and portfolio optimization.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: systematic trading strategy development, research and strategy deployment, client and sales engagement, product innovation, valuation and risk management, and inventory management. You will gain exposure to a wide range of financial products, including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, hedge, and trade-financed products, advancing algorithmic trading and data-driven strategies such as statistical arbitrage.
