Pruning day in Mom’s garden isn't just about trimming branches... it's about planning for the future. We prune our mango trees to encourage healthy new growth and to let more sunlight reach the fruit trees growing underneath. But before we toss the branches, we save the scions from our favorite mango varieties! These healthy pieces will be used later for grafting, so we can grow more of the mangoes we love without starting from scratch. Nothing goes to waste in Mom's garden.
