They gave every dot a seat number and a walking speed. This is agent-based simulation, the same modeling airport planners run before a terminal exists. Each digital passenger carries its own pace, its own bag, its own hesitation at the overhead bin, and the software plays the whole boarding out inside the drawing. The reason is money. Boarding sits on the critical path of an aircraft turnaround, and industry research prices a jet parked at a terminal at roughly $30 a minute. Planning figures give deplaning 20 passengers a minute through one door. Boarding manages 12.
