Why it worked
The video taps into a relatable, niche appreciation for a specific type of user-generated content that benefits a widely used platform. The creator's sincere gratitude and humor likely resonated with viewers who either contribute or benefit from these contributions.
Summary
The creator thanks people who upload menu photos to Google Maps, calling them the backbone of society because most people don't do it themselves. The video highlights the value of these user contributions to the platform.
Structure
- 1Addressing users who upload menu photos to Google Maps
- 2Praising them as the backbone of society
- 3Acknowledging that most people don't do this
- 4Expressing gratitude for their contribution
Product placement
Google Maps: it ACTS as a platform for users to upload and view restaurant information, including menus. Removing it would change the video's topic. It is incidental because the video is not promoting Google Maps itself, but rather thanking users for contributing to it.
