I'm finally back with an update on how I decided to decorate the layout I chose for my notecard system. If you're new here, I put together an ADHD index card planning system to help me stay on top of tasks throughout the week. I wanted the divider that was gonna be at the front of the box to be aesthetically pleasing so that I would be more encouraged to pick up the box and use it every day. I used some of my favorite washi tape and stickers to decorate the front of the card that will be used as a marker for the days of the week. Behind it, I have all my weekly cards that I plan to sort in at the beginning of the week when I do my weekly planning. I'm also giving myself the flexibility to slot it behind the next day if it's not that done on the day that I planned to do it, just like I will all of my daily tasks. For the daily dividers, I went ahead and labeled them Monday through Sunday and used some stickers that I had from my sticker book lying around and I think they turned out really cute. When I sat down to decorate, I honestly had no idea what direction I was gonna go with everything, but I'm super excited about how this turned out. Each day when I flip to the day of the week, I'll start with all of my daily tasks with my morning routine, moving into items I'd like to get done throughout the day and finally finishing with my night routine. As the system becomes more of a habit for me, I plan to swap out some of these things that I'm already doing daily with tasks that I'm having trouble getting done each day. Behind the weekly tabs, I put this plain cardstock divider to separate the days of the week. I created a snapshot of each month on the front of these dividers. I plan to pick a focus for the month along with jotting down any important dates that I need to keep in mind, as well as a monthly intention. I also thought it would be fun to take note of any books I'm reading, from book clubs, shows that are releasing any fruits behind the monthly tabs, I will have all of my monthly tasks that need to get done at the start of each week during the month. I will pick a few of these to sort into my tasks. The final set of cards that I have now are my quarterly tabs. I used some extra cardstock that I had laying around that matched the color theme and I think they turned out really cute. I've considered putting something on the front of these like I did the monthly tabs, but I haven't decided yet. The last set of cards that I have are my quarterly cards and these are just things that I hope to get done each quarter of the year. I think these tasks work best if I get them done during the first week of each quarter. But we'll see how it goes as I use this planner. That's my current system for now and for now, I'm just keeping extra dividers and index cards in the back so that way if I need to add, I have easy access. I think I would eventually like to add a project section as well. Be sure to follow along if you'd like to see how this index note card system works for me and how it evolves over time as I use it.
