What happens to the clothes nobody wants? Max saw the answer firsthand in Chile. 👕👗👖 Clothing arrives here in Alto Hospicio from around the world. Some finds a second chance at markets like La Quebradilla. What cannot be sold can ultimately become waste in the Atacama Desert. But this is not simply Chile’s problem, nor can it be solved by cleaning up the desert. It begins upstream, with overproduction and a global textile system that must take responsibility for what it creates. Thank you, @ONG Desierto Vestido for guiding Max through the area and helping him understand both this crisis and the local people working toward change. Once you see where fashion’s excess can end up, you cannot look at clothing the same way again.
