when we have to start using flashlights because our lights won't turn on at certain times of the day and our drinking water starts looking like this, you're gonna wish that you saved this video much earlier. It was just revealed that a data centre in Georgia has used 39 million gallons of freshwater a day for its cooling centres, and it went unnoticed. It wasn't until residents started complaining about low water pressure and their water starting to look like this for it to be revealed. It's crazy how these AI data centres can get away with using millions of gallons of fresh water every single day and it to go completely unnoticed. But the same residents that actually live there are being told to conserve their water. Usage like this is insane. Water is something that humans need to survive, to drink it, to cook with it, for literally everything. So AI is now allowed to use up our water, but we aren't? Yep. That doesn't sit right with me. And if you think the same, then I say we should stop supporting these big AI corporations. If you refuse, stop using AI regardless. Then at least switch to a more eco friendly alternative. You can do your own research, but I recommend switching to EcoGPT. Because it uses 10 times less water, 10 times less energy, and it also plants trees, so it actually gives something back to the environment. It's not a perfect solution, but it is much better than you supporting these big AI corporations. If you care about our drinking water and our electricity, then you should switch.
