One of the fastest ways to lose your presence is to start working harder for someone’s attention when they stop giving it to you. You lean in, speak louder, repeat yourself or keep talking while they’re clearly distracted. Without realising it, you’re communicating that their attention matters more to you than what you’re saying. When someone stops listening, stop speaking. Wait until their attention comes back to you, then continue slowly and calmly. You don’t need to compete with a phone, a distraction or another conversation to be heard. Protect your presence, pause with purpose. #communicationskills #communicationtips #bodylanguage #socialskills
