I'm Italian... and what is this?

Before I moved to the US, I had never heard of “Italian dressing.” 😂 In Italy, we usually dress our salads very simply: extra virgin olive oil, vinegar (or lemon juice), salt… and that’s pretty much it. So naturally, I was VERY skeptical about something called “Italian dressing.” 🇮🇹 Then a friend of mine who studied at the CIA kindly passed me this recipe and… I hate to admit it, but I LOVE it. 😂 So if you like Italian dressing, you’re going to LOVE this one. Save it and give it a try! Italian Dressing ½ cup extra virgin olive oil 1 tbsp + 1 tsp Dijon mustard 3 tbsp red wine vinegar 2 tbsp water ½ tbsp dried basil 2 tbsp garlic powder 2 tbsp dried oregano 2¼ tsp minced shallots 1 tbsp kosher salt 2¼ tsp black pepper 1 tbsp + 1 tsp honey Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes Add everything to a jar, seal tightly, and shake vigorously until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. And yes… an Italian is officially endorsing Italian dressing. 😂🇮🇹 #italiandressing #salad
