I really don't get where the entitlement comes from. I recently posted the car that I drive, which is a 1998 Lumina. A few of the comments that I got are just wild to me. I saw someone say that they would be so embarrassed to drive that because it's so ugly. They're not going to drive a POS, they work too hard. Oh hell no, they'd rather keep their payment and that's just some of them that I can remember off the top of my head. I'm sure you do work hard. Most of us do. Most of us go to work every day. You work too hard to be paying interest on a depreciating asset. Someone said my car would be embarrassing to drive. I'm not embarrassed. Who's embarrassed? I lose my job if I have a medical emergency and I can't work. I don't have to worry about someone coming to my house and literally taking my car away. I'm not mad at anyone that has a car payment. I would just love for you to stop and think for a second like is this a smart financial move for me? People give so many excuses for why they feel like they want or need to have these 50, 60 thousand dollar vehicles. People love to say, well I need a reliable vehicle. If if your only goal was to have a reliable vehicle, I don't think you would have borrowed as much money on that car as you did. Part of it has to be for the luxury of it and that's not a bad thing. But instead of making these monthly payments, why don't you pay yourself that monthly payment and then slowly work your way up and then just pay for the car in cash. Yes, I'm sure it would take a hot minute to do. Think about how much better it would feel driving away knowing that car is yours. The bank's not going to ever come and take it away from you. I don't know guys, just something to think about.
