If you're considering doing the Skyline Loop Trail in Mt. Rainier National Park, boy do I have some hardy tips for you. It is a moderately challenging hike. Now, you're limits, okay? But if you take lots of water, wear good shoes and take your time, I promise you any bit of struggle is blown out of the water by these views. Maybe the most crucial advice would be to get there before 5:30 AM or after 4 PM. Both these videos were taken before 6 AM. I got there at 4 in the morning, still insanity. It is very important to get there either early or later in the afternoon for the better parking and least amount of people. To go clockwise or counterclockwise? Clockwise is more of an uphill, but wow, in your face views while going counterclockwise is going to hit Myrtle Falls first and be a steadier incline. Most people will say go counterclockwise, but for me personally, I've done it twice, I just prefer going clockwise because like I said, you should get there early in the morning and it is cold, so going straight up that mountain first thing really warms you up. Keep in mind, this is the most popular trail in Mt. Rainier National Park, okay? There will be tons of people. With that being said, I can't believe I have to say it, pack in, pack out, leave no trace, respect the bathrooms and their will be wildlife on trail. Do not approach them. All in all, bucket list hike, 100 out of 10 whimsy, all the magical, what would you ever want to do this hike?
