A friend reached out to me recently and asked about the money market. Maybe it's because I worked in banking for six years, and she thought I would know what's going on in that industry. And honestly, I told her, I'm so deep in tech right now, I don't even know what's going on in that industry anymore. But I kept thinking about it. And then an idea clicked. How about we build this? Not another banking app, not another expense tracker where you have to manually enter every single thing you spend. Today on building with AI for the non-technical founder, we're building an AI money coach. I started thinking about something different. What if you had an AI money coach that actually sat down with you and asked, okay, you earn 200,000 Naira a month, where does that money go? And you tell it, 50,000 Naira goes to electricity, 50,000 Naira goes to my girlfriend, 30,000 Naira goes to transport. Instead of just recording it, the AI asks, why 50,000 Naira? Is that amount absolutely necessary? What would happen if you reduced it to 30,000 Naira? What if we saved that extra 20,000 Naira every month? And then it could show you what that 20,000 Naira could potentially become over one, three, five or 10 years. Here's the part I'm really interested in. What if the problem isn't that you're not earning enough? What if you're just not spending enough? The AI could ask, what do you do for work? What skills do you have? What are you interested in? Would you be open to another income stream? And then help you explore realistic opportunities based on your skills, your location, and what's actually happening in the market. And you don't have to type everything. You can literally talk to it. I just spent 4,500 Naira on fuel. Done. Or upload a receipt. Or a screenshot of a bank alert. The goal isn't to tell you what to do with your money. It's to help you think differently about your money because sometimes the question isn't how do I make more money? It's what is the money I already have doing for me? So that's what I'm building. An AI money coach that helps you understand your spending, challenge your financial decisions, find opportunities to increase your income, and eventually understand how to make your money work harder for you.
