He didn’t even have a name he was just “Dog no 11.”💔 He was one of 22 neglected dogs rescued from a puppy mill, all found in such terrible condition that rescuers couldn’t even tell them apart. Today, he needed a groom badly enough that sedation was the safest option. But instead of making things easier, it made me even more nervous. Without his reactions, I couldn’t tell when something hurt. Every movement of the clipper had to be perfect. As we slowly removed the matted coat from his body and carefully freed his ears, I kept thinking about how long he must have lived like this. And underneath all that fur was a little dog who had never even been given a proper name.
