That mistake can kill your bunny. Giving your rabbit a full bath might seem like the right thing to do when they're dirty, but this is actually something you should almost never do. Unlike dogs, rabbits don't need regular baths. They groom themselves naturally, and getting their entire body soaked can cause serious problems. And the stress can be just as concerning. Rabbits are prey animals, so being held and placed in water can make them panic. A frightened rabbit can struggle, jump, or injure themselves trying to escape. If your bunny has a small dirty spot, spot-clean that area instead of bathing their whole body. And if their bottom is constantly dirty, don't just keep washing them. A constantly dirty bottom can be a sign of an underlying problem, such as diet, weight, mobility, or illness. So instead of covering up the problem with baths, figure out why your bunny can't stay clean. Your bunny doesn't need a bath just because they're a little dirty. Sometimes, the safest thing you can do is leave their natural grooming routine alone.
