Sacramento, THIS is why I love eating local. 🥹🍽️ We stopped into @Genki Kitchen in East Sac and this wasn’t just a pretty brunch. The food, the family behind it, and the way they intentionally support other local businesses made this place such a good find. We tried: 🍳 Loco Moco with BOTH white + brown gravy 🍞 French Toast 🧇 Katsu Chicken & Waffles 🍜 Beef Udon 🍺 Japanese Michelada And everything was honestly so thoughtfully done. The quality, flavors AND presentation were a 10/10 for us. But one of my favorite details? This is a family-owned spot, and their son had made the whipped cream and waffle batter fresh that morning. 🥹 Those are the little things you don’t always see on the plate, but you can absolutely feel when you’re supporting a family business. They’re also keeping that support circulating right here in our community, sourcing specialty products from local businesses like @mahorobajapanesebakery for their thick-cut Japanese shokupan, @capheharu for specialty coffee, and @madbutchermeatco for quality meats. We live in the Farm-to-Fork Capital, and THIS is what I want to see more of. Local restaurants supporting local makers, families supporting families, and really good food coming out of it. ❤️ 📍 Genki Kitchen 855 57th St, Ste C Sacramento, CA 95819 Save this for your next Sacramento brunch and tell me: which dish are you ordering first?! 👇🏼 #Sacramento #SacramentoFoodies #916 #SupportLocalSac #FarmToFork
