How I closed a famous content creator premium client despite having bad experience with a VAnyou'll see tipsnon how to closena client throughnthis video <3nnWhenever you jump into andiscovery call, always greetnthe client first before the clientneven gets the chance to greet you.nIt immediately sets the tonenand shows that you're confidentnand prepared.nnI wasn't able to capture thatnpart of the video, but after thengreeting, I asked my clientnwhat part of her businessnshe's currently struggling with.nAnd this is where she startednopening up about her BADnEXPERIENCES working withndifferent freelancers.nnSo I LISTEN.nDon't immediately jump in andntry to sell yourself.nLet the client talk, understandnwhat went wrong, and listennfor the gaps where you can actually help.nnSo after listening to thenclient, I started connectingnthe dots and giving her somenbusiness strategies based onnwhat she shared.nInstead of saying,n"I know how to do this.nI know how to use this tool.nI can do this...",nI shifted the conversation to:n"Here's what we can do.nHere's how we can improve this.nHere's how I can help you achieve that."nnAnd I'm doing this for a reason.nTHIS is what's helping menclose clients. <3nnBecause the client cannalready see the value beforenwe even start working together.nShe's not just hearing,n"I know how to use Canva.nI know how to use GHL.nI can manage your social media."nShe's hearing,n"I understand your problem.nI have an idea of what we can do,nand I can help you move towardnthe result you want."nAnd that changes the whole conversation.nYou're no longer justnpresenting yourself as anVA looking for a job.nYou're positioning yourselfnas someone who can actuallynHELP SOLVE A BUSINESSnPROBLEM.nSo as you can see here, thenclient started sharing morenabout her recent experiencenwith the person she's currentlynworking with and one of thenbiggest issues was inconsistency.nnThis is actually one of thenhardest parts of closing a clientnwho has had a BAD EXPERIENCEnwith previous freelancers.nnBecause psychologically, nonce someone has beenndisappointed multiple times, nthey become more CAUTIOUS.nThey're not just asking,n"Can you do the job?"nnSo instead of simply saying,n"Don't worry, I'm trustworthy,"nI explained HOW I WORK.nnI told her that I separate mynpersonal and professionalnaccounts, and that Inuse secure tools likenLastPass for sharingnpasswords instead of askingnclients to send sensitiveninformation casually through chat.nnA lot of the time, they'rennot hiring us because theynsimply need someone to "do tasks."nThey're hiring us because they'renstruggling with something andnthey NEED HELP.nnAnd I know most of us aren't businessnowners, so sometimes we might think,n"I don't really understand whatnit's like to run a business.nBut you can still RELATE."nnSo when you're on a discovery call, ndon't just think, "How do I get hired?"nThink, "This person is asking for help.nHow can I actually HELP her?"nnBecause sometimes, the bestnthing you can bring into andiscovery call isn't another skillnor another tool.nIt's UNDERSTANDING.nnSo one tip din na can really givenyou that WOW FACTOR duringna discovery call is this:nWhenever the client mentionsna tool or platform that you actuallynknow,nDON'T JUST SAY, "Yes, I know that."nnTake the opportunity to brieflynexplain how that platform worksnand how you can use it tonhelp with what they need.nnhabang nagsasalita ka, sanback of their mind, they'renalready thinking:n"Oh, okay. This VA KNOWS thentool I need."nAnd that's another point for you.nnSo as you can see here, nthe client asked me,n"What questions do younhave for me?"nnSo whenever you go into andiscovery call, always have 2-3nmeaningful questions ready atnthe back of your mind.nNot just questions like,n"What are your expectations?"nor "What tools do you use?"nnAnd mommy, this is the kindnof question you want to asknbecause it helps younUNDERSTAND THE BUSINESSnBETTER.nnHindi lang tayo askingnquestions just to have somethingnto ask.nWe're trying to understandnwhat the client is currentlynselling, who their clients are, nand how the business works.nnSo after ko malaman yungnmga services na currentlynino-offer niya and yung mgangusto pa niyang i-offer innthe future, I was able tonstructure and suggest kungnano yung mga pwede namingngawin if we were to work together.nnSo the client asked me thisntime, "How do you work?nWhat's your schedule?"nThis is where you need tonhighlight not just your availability, nbut HOW YOU COMMUNICATEnAND WORK WITH THE CLIENT.nnBecause when you work virtually,nCOMMUNICATION IS EVERYTHING.nnSo the client this time a samplenof my work, and this is exactly whynhaving a portfolio ready isnso important.nnAnd because I already hadnsamples ready, I could easilynshow her my work and give hernsomething tangible to evaluate.nnSo mga mi, while you're stillnlooking for your first client, BUILDnYOUR PORTFOLIO.nSo you have something to shownwhen being asked.nnAnd as you can see here, nthe client also asked for mynSUGGESTIONS on what wencan improve when itncomes to the content.nnAnd this is why it's sonimportant, mga mi, tonKNOW YOUR NICHE ANDnKNOW YOUR SKILLS.nnYou need to be able to giventhem a clear answer andnexplain WHY you're suggesting it.nnBecause when you can do that, nthe client starts seeing you asnmore than just someone whonfollows instructions.nThey see you as someone whonhas the KNOWLEDGE ANDnEXPERTISE they're looking for.nnAnd that's one of the reasonsnclients hire VAs in the first place.nThey need someone who canntill the gaps where they need help.nnSo I just explained everythingnwe could do and how we couldnapproach the business.nAnd mga mi, THIS is what Incall coming into a discoveryncall fully prepared.nnYou need to come into thatncall with a GAME PLAN.nEspecially with this clientnbecause she already told menthat she had badnexperiences with previous freelancers.nnShe said she had seen allnthese great PLANS AND IDEAS,nbut the problem was therenwas no execution.nnAnd another thing I reassurednmy client about is that I'm notnjust looking for someone tonCLOSE today and then move on.nI'm looking for a client that Incan WORK WITH LONG-TERM,ngrow with the business, andnbuild something together.nnAnd honestly, mga mi,nTHAT'S one of the biggestnlessons I've learned from experience.nDon't just focus on HOWnTO GET HIRED.nFocus on finding the RIGHTnCLIENT that you cannactually grow with.
