If I could give my 1st-year self one piece of advice, it would be this: Don’t make your grades your entire personality. Before college, you were someone with talents, hobbies, passions, friends, sports, interests, and things you were genuinely good at. Don’t let all of that disappear just because college got hard. Yes, strive for excellence. Aim high. Take your studies seriously. But don’t let one exam, one subject, or one failing grade convince you that your worth is determined by a number.
