My kitchen stays clean and odor-free because I do these three things every week. First of all, I clean. I try to deep clean all of my appliances each week. That includes scrubbing and wiping down the oven. Probably the most annoying appliance to clean, but it's not always dirty. But this particular week, it was bad, as you can see. I also make sure to get in the dishwasher and actually put the dishes on a cycle on empty with a little bit of white vinegar. And then I also make sure to clean out the sink and then I add a garbage disposal packet to make sure it's clean on the inside as well. Also for my other appliances, I make sure to wipe down and clean on the refrigerator as well as the microwave. The second thing I do weekly is to maintain trash cans. What I mean by that is steam clean them to make sure I'm getting all that trash and odor left behind. And then I use a Clorox toilet bowl cleaner and clean the trash cans out with some pine-sol and some disinfectant. And then once I get those wiped down, I add a Febreze trash pod just to make sure that it has a nice smell that will linger throughout the week. Those only have to be changed every like 45 days, but they truly make a difference every single time we open the trash can to put something in it. You can absolutely smell it, so it definitely works. And lastly, I like to do a simmer pot. I typically turn it on at night once I get done cooking, just to make sure that there aren't any smells lingering in the air. I usually add a bunch of citrus, like lemon, orange, apple, cinnamon, vanilla, maybe some rosemary. And then I turn it on low and let it simmer. And then my kitchen stays clean and odor-free.
