Does your kitchen floor turn into a backpack graveyard by day two of school? 🤪
Same bags, same lunch kits, same water bottles, every single afternoon.
And somehow you're the only one who sees them.
Here's the part nobody told you.
Kids' brains love predictable steps. Do the same thing in the same spot enough times and it stops being a fight, because their brain runs it on autopilot.
That's why routines set in the first few weeks of school stick so much better than the ones you try to install in November.
(Something I wish I'd leaned into harder when mine were little 😜)
My niece stayed a few days so I worked with what I had, but in your house? Hooks go at kid height. Otherwise the floor is the hook.
Same with a drawer they can actually reach for water bottles and lunch containers.
No landing spot means piles. Piles mean the whole house starts to feel heavy, and you end up carrying
all of it.
You're not failing at this. Nobody handed you a system.
Follow me @gosimplified for psychology-backed routines and real-life fixes that stop the chaos before it starts. Your home can feel manageable again, I promise ❤️
