Here's 5 things I wish I would have known about Savanna wellness resort and spa before booking. First, skip all inclusive package. By the time we left, we spent less than $1000 between the two of us. That package can easily cost up to $1500 per night depending on what time of year you go. It's not too remote. I'd recommend grabbing breakfast at the resort cafe. The truffle breakfast sandwich was amazing. And then you can hop on one of their bikes and head into town for lunch or dinner. Savanna also has a choose your own adventure kind of vibe. There are no strict schedules or detoxes. Something I was not expecting was for it to be a haven for Black women. I went in fully prepared to be judged or be in a space where you don't always see us. Instead, every single class I took, every workshop that we went to, there were at least two or three other women of color in there ranging of all ages, simply there to focus on prioritizing their well-being and mental health. Lastly, book everything early. It never felt overcrowded. The class sizes are small and they filled up fast. I'd say try and book everything you want to do at least three weeks in advance. Okay, enjoy your trip. Bye.
