A Newport couple has been sentenced and banned from keeping animals for life after we rescued 114 guinea pigs and 31 cats from severe neglect 💔 Following a police warrant, the animals were found living among hazards and filth. The property had no ventilation, or clear walkways, with rooms covered in stacked crates and loose animals roaming among heavy clutter. Many of the cats had flu symptoms, while dozens of guinea pigs were pregnant and others found in small crates. Sadly six cats and six guinea pigs were too poorly to be rehomed, but following extensive treatment across several RSPCA animal centres and boarding facilities, the survivors have gone on to get their happy-ever-afters. As large-scale multi-animal cases like this continue to rise, we urge pet owners to neuter their pets, and to seek help if they are feeling overwhelmed before issues escalate.
