Large-scale Spaniel rescue💔 A man from Doncaster has been found guilty of neglecting 84 dogs and two cats, who were rescued from a property living in squalor. Nine of our officers, alongside police and local authorities, were involved in removing the pets last year. The rooms were covered from floor to ceiling in faeces and dirt, with dogs huddled in corners, covered in filth with yellow-stained coats. Our officers reported the smell to be unbearable, making it hard to breathe or talk. After being transferred across four vet practices, some of the dogs were found to be underweight, suffering from ear infections, and required urgent veterinary care. Sadly, even with our teams' best efforts, one spaniel had to be put to sleep to prevent further suffering. Thanks to the extraordinary collaboration of multiple RSPCA branches and centres across the country, the remaining dogs and cats received the rehabilitation they desperately needed, and have all now been successfully rehomed. We are immensely grateful to all involved in this rescue - keep an eye on our page over the coming weeks for updates on their story. This heartbreaking case was the result of unneutered pets, meaning breeding spiralled completely out of control. Large-scale multi-animal rescues like this are continuing to rise at an alarming rate. As we face an unprecedented rehoming crisis, we're urging everyone to adopt, not shop. Read the full story in detail via our bio. #AnimalRescue #Spaniel #AdoptDontShop #News
