I had a 4.0 cumulative GPA and a 4.0 GPA in high school and I had a 4.0 every single semester when I was in college while also being a college basketball player. I'm gonna explain how you can do the exact same thing. Let's get into it. How to get a 4.0. Number one, non-negotiables. Show up, phone to backpack, ask questions, participate. How you stay awake. I know we all get a little bit tired, but asking questions and participating is how you stay awake. We are not at school to scroll TikTok, put your phone away, put it in your backpack, ask questions, participate, and you will already be winning half of the battle. Number two, know your grade. You need to check the syllabus frequently. This is what a typical syllabus will look like. Participation 10%, homework 20%, quizzes 25%, exams 45%. Our goal is to have zero zeros. I know exams are 45%, but that does not mean you just neglect the quizzes, the homework, the participation, you still care about all three of these categories outside of just the one that's weighted the most heavily. Once again, our goal, zero zeros. If you have a homework assignment that you have to do it late and you know you're gonna get a three out of 10 or a four out of 10, still turn it in. We do not want any zero out of 10s, zero out of fives, whatever it is. Zero zeros. Number three, get ahead. Plan your week. Start early. Use your little breaks. 15 minutes at end of class, one hour before practice. All in all, to get a 4.0, it's effort. Effort in non-negotiables, effort in knowing your grade, effort in getting ahead. You do that, you put effort into all three of these categories, you will get a 4.0.
