Why it worked

The video taps into the popular "styling my city" trend, making it relatable and engaging for viewers interested in fashion and local trends. The creator's direct comparison to an existing outfit and request for comments encourages interaction.

Summary

The creator attempts to recreate a "Manila outfit" by searching for "Manila outfit" on TikTok and then assembling a similar outfit. They showcase a brown t-shirt, baggy black jeans, loafers, glasses, a carabiner with keys, and a crossbody bag, before showing the final look and asking viewers if they copied the original creator.

Structure

1Introduce "Styling My City" concept
2Search for "Manila outfit" on TikTok
3Recreate the outfit piece by piece
4Showcase the final outfit
5Ask for viewer engagement

Product placement

Spotify logo on shirt: APPEARS - a logo on clothing. Removing it would not change what happens in the video. TikTok: ACTS - the platform on which the video is posted and where the search is simulated. Removing it would change what happens in the video. Kehlani: APPEARS - a name on screen in the split image, likely the creator of the original outfit. Removing it would not change what happens in the video.

Styling my city! Just type your city and outfit. Here on TikTok. And outfit. Here on TikTok. And what comes up? You have to do. Manila. I'm from Manila. This is what came up for me. Now let's recreate it. First, this brown t-shirt. I love how this fits me. Next are these black denim jeans. These pants are so baggy. Very nice. For the shoes, these loafers. We're almost done. Now let's accessorize. Frames. For the keys, carabiner. Bag. So this is the final Manila outfit. I'll give it a little 360. This really look like a Manila outfit. Comment down below.
